CAREER HISTORY - CHRIS SMITH

Joining an entertainment and music-based cable company directly from college in 1986 at the age of 19, and first employed as a ‘runner’, I have since worked my way up the broadcast industry to become a creative writer/producer on documentary and compilation programmes for large audience distribution.

By winning contracts from both large and small production companies, the wide and varied work experience has involved me in research, editing assignments, filming interviews, production of studio based shows and commissions for large commercial clients. 

I am a creative and lateral thinker, a multi-tasker, a spontaneous decision maker, adept at working in fast moving environments.

Having built my career to date in TV, Video and Telecoms programming, I am currently undertaking a change of career within the environmental sector,  exemplified by studying for an Msc in Responsibility and Business Practise at  Bath University. I am keen to continue gaining work experience within  relevant sectors.
